PRAISEWRITERS MEMBERSHIP REOPENS THIS FALL!
You have an enemy, and he wants to keep you alone and confused.

He has everything to lose when you let your Spirit-led words into the world.

But within a community of faithful Catholic communicators with a strong sense of calling, you’ll claim the conviction you need to rebuke the lies. You’ll find the motivation you need to stay consistent. You’ll discover the direction you need to make the next right step forward in the creative journey.

Writing is one of the few truly solitary acts we do, but living a writing life doesn’t need to be done in isolation. It shouldn’t be.

We were created in the image of a God who creates–and does so with words!–AND who exists as a communion of persons: the Blessed Trinity.

PraiseWriter members participate in his creativity and his communion through our shared love of words, our reverence for their Source, and our desire to see each other grow and flourish as Catholic writers.

When you are facing a blinking cursor, listening to post-publication crickets, feeling confusion or discouragement, or uncertain about your next step (or what your message even is),

you could either:
selected Listen to the lies and cave into the resistance OR
selected Find your people and plug into a community of those who, like you, want to live their writing calling in a way worthy of the Caller.

What if you could not only make progress as a writer but, in the process, become more fully yourself, more alive in Christ, and more in love with the Divine Author?

Amazing, right? That’s our hope for you, too.

When you join PraiseWriters

We think you’ll say, "I’ve found my people!"

And we believe that sense of calling and conviction will translate into writing that is clear, beautiful, and resplendent with truth.

As a solidly Catholic writing community, we start with your identity as a son or daughter of God. As our spiritual advisor says, “Writing is secondary.”

We also believe that you, by virtue of your baptism, have a call on your life to participate in the prophetic work of Jesus Christ. That means that each Christian, without exception, is called to extend the Gospel message into the world today. The way we do that will be unique to each of us. But PraiseWriter members have discerned that part of their call includes the crafting of words and the shaping of messages to open minds, move hearts, and stir imaginations. We support them in this sacred vocation.

We do this in a way that is very practical, but also deeply spiritual and uniquely Catholic.

What we believe?

We believe the Holy Spirit has anointed you, the Catholic writer, for a purpose and has appointed you for such a time as this.

We believe that the darkness of the world and the spiritual hunger of both believers and unbelievers alike have converged upon the call of the Catholic writer today.

We believe that the words stolen by the enemy can be reclaimed by God’s people and put into the service of Jesus Christ and that the Catholic writer has a singularly powerful role in this timely mission.

We know that Catholic writers and communicators have particular lies they battle regularly and that certain prayers and practices are most effective at pushing back the darkness, both internal and external.

We know there is a particular temptation for writers to feel alone and to remain isolated and self-doubting.

We realize that even when the calling is clear and the desire is firm, the world of writing and especially publishing today is increasingly nebulous and sometimes intimidating.

When you become a PraiseWriter Member

Live Weekly Interviews

Wednesday afternoons are our favorite! We come together for live, interactive interviews with Catholic writers, authors, editors, publishers, and marketers to learn their stories, secrets, and best practices.

We ask the questions you don’t otherwise get to hear your favorite writers answer:

  • How did you get started writing?
  • What is your writing routine like?
  • How do you find time to do the deep, creative work?
  • What do you wish you’d known before you published?

Fun, informal, inspirational, and incredibly informative, these conversations are pure gold.

Bi-Weekly “Office Hours” and Meetups

Every month, members are invited to an exclusive mini-training with group coaching time and a separate Zoom “meetup” to discuss the content of recent interviews and trainings.

These provide the opportunity for members to meet each other, share about their projects, ask questions, receive feedback and encouragement, and dislodge creative bottlenecks and roadblocks.

Workshops

Members have free access to valuable, deep-dive workshops.

From designing an author website to registering a copyright to pitching a book proposal, we’ll give you the insider info you need to gain real momentum.

First Dibs and Discounts

Members have first dibs on publishing opportunities, collaborative projects, courses, and exclusive coaching packages.

They also receive discounts on conferences, journals, coaching, and other valuable resources.

When You Join, You’ll Be in the Company of

Writers who are just beginning the journey.

Whether they are working our their message, dipping their toes into social media posting, or choosing a website design, these writers are curious and ready to learn.

We help them lay the foundation for a lasting, sustainable creative life.

Writers who have never called themselves writers.

Maybe they never saw their journal reflections and thoughtful cards and emails as writing–but increasingly, these members are realizing that what they’ve done instinctively all along deserves a title: writer.

And maybe, they think, this could become something more. Maybe this is what’s been stirring in their restless hearts.

Experienced
writers.

The need for community never goes away. Some of our members have published multiple books, spoken in front of thousands, and have plenty of followers and subscribers.

But what they know they need is companionship, deeper formation, and accountability. And we, of course, love it when they chime in with all of their experience and wisdom.

Writers who want to grow their readership.

When we’re called to write for others, we want to become “discoverable” to our ideal reader. Yes, God will open doors in his time, but we have to do our part.

PraiseWriters helps hesitant writers overcome the false humility around sharing their words and marketing their message so that they can be confident and magnanimous in their calling. We make sure to include conversations not just about the craft of writing and process of publishing but also the necessary art of relational, authentic platform building.

Writers who are overwhelmed by all the options.

Should I write a book? Rename my blog? What should I be posting on social media? Is this still my message? Which publisher should I be approaching first?

The Catholic Church has all the resources we need to discern God’s will. We share those, moreover, we share practical and professional advice and lots of real-life examples to help members discover the next step they need to take and put on blinders around everything else.

Writers with
real lives.

Yup, that’s all of us. Most days see members running to softball practice, folding laundry, teaching classes, or doing the readings at daily Mass. We are lawyers, entrepreneurs, musicians, parents, counselors, catechists, caregivers, and coaches. We do a lot of things, and often struggle to find time to write or even listen to interviews.

That’s why we record our events and offer bite-sized trainings to give you quick wins and buoy up your motivation to make the most of the time you do have.

What we’ve all found is that God has a way of taking the little we offer him and multiplying our moments miraculously. He lesses our yes.

Writers of
all Genres.

Our community includes fiction writers, poets, devotional writers, authors, memoirists, journalists, podcasters, speakers, and all kinds of content creators.

While we specialize in helping faith-based nonfiction writers, there is plenty of helpful content–and lively community–for everyone.

Christians
on a Journey.

And not just a writing journey, but a spiritual one. We’ve discovered that our creative work is part of that process. We pray it helps others, but we know it is transforming us, one word, one syllable at a time.

“God uses the creative process to make us whole,” said Chris Stefanick in his interview with us, and we couldn’t agree more. The things that come up as we dig deep and put forth reveal places that he wants to heal, restore, and integrate. In many ways, the writing is an invitation to greater intimacy and communion with him.

What a grace that our passionate pursuits are part of the process of our sanctification!

Writers who are interested in Publishing.

We are well positioned to give advice and even opportunities for publishing.

There’s never been a better time to get your words in print, and we’ll share with you all the most up-to-date ways to hold a beautiful published copy of your work in less time than you think.
