Find Your Voice
So much writing advice flattens every writer into the same voice. This course works the other direction — sharpening what's distinctively yours. You'll leave with a clearer sense of your subject, your style, and the essays only you can write.
Professional, Experienced, and Authentically Catholic Writing Advice
With ten years as a freelance, corporate, and PR writer — including reporting for The Catholic Sun — and a homeschool teacher whose students have won state and national writing contests, I bring the discipline of the AP Stylebook (and unwavering loyalty to the Oxford Comma) together with a Catholic sense of why craft matters.
Raise the Bar
As culture keeps lowering the bar on what counts as good writing — emoji texts, social shorthand, throwaway captions — Catholic writers are called to raise it. Over six weeks, we'll work toward essays with real structure and captivating flair — the kind of writing that earns a reader's attention and keeps it.
Learn from a Teacher who is Also a Writer in the Trenches
I know the whispers that discourage every draft — the "why does this matter," the "another Substack, really?" I've spent a decade helping writers push past those voices and produce work that edifies and delights. No fluff, no formulas — just craft, encouragement, and the support from someone whose been in your same shoes.

Meet Your Teacher...
I'm Becky — wife, mom of five, and a lifelong writer.
I earned a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona and worked as a freelance, corporate, and PR writer, as well as a reporter for various publications, including The Catholic Sun, for over 10 years before devoting myself to becoming a stay-at-home mom.
I've homeschooled my 5 children for 15 years (graduating my oldest two in 2024 and 2025 respectively) and have taught numerous writing classes to all ages in that time. Under my tutelage, my own children have won state and national writing contests.
Despite my professional relationship with the AP Stylebook, I'll never abandon my close companion, the Oxford Comma.
Someday, I'll practice what I preach and finish my book(s)! In the meantime, I continue to blog and work as a freelance writer, but I enjoy helping students and adults develop their own writing skills.
You can find me on Substack, Facebook, and at cradleandconvert.com.
